The three primary bitcoin software packages are Bitcoind, bitcoin-qt and Bitcoin Core. Together these software packages form the core of the bitcoin network. In addition to these packages, there are also several various utility programs that are distributed as Open-source software.
Bitcoind
With a Windows client, Bitcoind can be started using the command line (or alternatively, Windows GUI) from a command prompt, bitcoin-qt or by clicking on the Start menu->. Right-click -> Run as Administrator or start from the command line -> c:path-to-bitcoinbitcoin.exe.

Core
Bitcoin Core is a project to create an alternative client to the original Satoshi client. The client is designed to reconnect quickly and efficiently to the largest Bitcoin nodes, regaining lost transactions, and providing the highest degree of privacy.
wallets
A wallet is a digital "wallet" that is more than just a collection of bitcoins. It is a software program through which the user interacts with the bitcoin network.
How bitcoin works
The bitcoin network and blockchain is a peer-to-peer network of computers running the bitcoin client. Every computer participating in the bitcoin network is called a node. The blockchain is the public ledger of all bitcoin transactions, here called “blocks”, where every block has a link to the previous block in the chain. A block contains a time-stamp, a reference to the previous block, a hash of the current block, and transactions of the block. The most recent block's transactions form a payment to a set of addresses, one of which is the sender address and the other which are the receiver. For each payment to a senders address, the receiver address is listed. Therefore, bitcoin exchanges send to a traders account and traders can use those addresses to receive payment. This linkage between addresses allow you to send payment to anyone and not just who you are directly trading with.
