[The effect of the antiphlogisticum preparations cotton and hydrocortisone on the course and outcome of the acute period of purulent inflammation in combination with treatment by antibiotics].
The antiphlogisticum cotton applied as an external gauze dressing and hydrocortisone as an external salve in the acute period of inflammation were used in combination with treatment of exudative phlegmon of the lower limb. It was established, that in the acute phase of inflammation cotton rapidly decreases microflora, inflammation is reduced and the wound heals faster. The use of cotton in combination with hydrocortisone gives good therapeutic results in the early period of the inflammatory process.Heritability estimation of keratectasia: a case-control association study.
https://ssflix.online/ To determine whether genetic factors play a role in the development of keratectasia (KD), a severe corneal disease. A population-based case-control association study. Case patients included in the Cornea Donor Study of the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute were recruited by retrospective chart review, and control subjects were recruited from the same registry as case subjects. All subjects completed a questionnaire and underwent a complete ophthalmologic examination. Association between KD and genotypes of 9 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) previously reported as being associated with risk of severe glaucoma, and a 20-SNP haplotype previously reported to be associated with risk of severe glaucoma and other corneal diseases, were studied in 74 KD case and 122 control subjects. The primary outcome was the association between KD and the presence of the SNP or haplotype genotypes. Association between genotypes and the secondary outcome measures of K max (the maximum keratometry readings) and the minimum corneal thickness was also tested. A case-control association study that compared KD cases with controls. The mean +/- SD of age at diagnosis of KD was 38.0 +/- 19.6 years; the mean K max was 47.2 +/- 3.6 diopters (D), the mean K min was 44.5 +/- 3.1 D, and the mean central corneal thickness was 476 +/- 38 microm. The SNP heterozygote CT was associated with a statistically significant increased risk of KD compared with the AA and TT genotypes (adjusted odds ratio [OR], 2.75 [95% confidence interval CI, 1.32-5.71]; P =.007).
