RUNESPOOR berasal dari negara kecil di Afrika, Burkina Faso. Ular ini memiliki kepala tiga. biasanya mencapai panjang 1,8 atau 2,1 meter. Tubuhnya berwarna oranye pucat dihiasi garis-garis hitam. Kementerian Sihir Burkina Faso merancang beberapa hutan tertentu yang tidak dapat dilacak, semata-mata untuk kepentingan hidup Runespoor.
Runespoor pernah menjadi binatang peliharaan favorit para penyihir Hitam, tentu karena sosoknya yang mencolok dan menakutkan. Berdasarkan catatan-catatan para penyihir Parselmouth, ternyata setiap kepala Runespoor mempunyai kegunaan yang berbeda-beda. Kepala sebelah kiri adalah perencana, yang memutuskan ke mana Runespoor akan pergi dan apa yang akan mereka lakukan. Kepala tengah adalah pemimpi (Runespoor bisa bergeming selama berhari-hari, tenggelam dalam impian sekaligus asyik berkhayal). Kepala sebelah kanan adalah pengkritik dan akan menilai usaha-usaha yang dilakukan kepala sebelah kiri dan tengah. Taring kepala kanan ini sangat berbisa. Runespoor jarang mencapai umur panjang, karena ketiga kepala itu cenderung saling menyerang satu sama lain. Sering terlihat seekor Runespoor yang kepala sebelah kanannya hilang, sementara dua kepala lainnya saling melilit dan menggigit.
Runespoor diketahui merupakan satu-satunya hewan yang bertelur melalui mulutnya. Telurnya bernilai sangat tinggi, digunakan untuk membuat ramuan yang berkhasiat merangsang kecerdasan mental. Pasar gelap yang memperjual-belikan telur Runespoor, maupun ular itu sendiri, pernah marak selama beberapa abad.
