The interesting thing about the strength of the Ace-King and Ace-Queen is that in tournament situations they seem to bust out more players than any other hand. Though they are very strong pre-flop, they are still just drawing hands. High cards are often a coin flip preflop and can become very weak very quickly depending on the flop. Players are often surprised when a high pocket pair is defeated. However, as the table percentages show, they are easily beaten when they do not improve after the flop.

Their all-ins is the biggest and most dangerous hole in any player's betting game. Players can lose anywhere from 20 to 40 to even 100 times what they would lose in a normal pot when they lose an all in bet. This is the most difficult and most frustrating area to deal.

An opponent who doesn't attempt to show strength is called an obvious weakness. The first example of this is a pre-flop limp. Anyone who limps from a later position at the table after entering a pot is weak. The pot will be taken down quickly if the opponent raises from a position that is not yet in play. You will be in the limper position after the flop. If your opponent checks, you can place another bet to take the bigger pot there. If you are called twice, you must slow down. However this system works so well that the rare occasion when you are forced to fold is more than compensated by the many times you take down the pot.
