Poker Theory Vs. Poker Reality
The stars are out in full force for the summer of mayhem at Las Vegas. Go on a shopping spree for a journal next time you're out. Think of electronic journals like this: How many computer file can you find from 3+ years ago? It's not many. How many photos are you able to recall from your childhood? Probably quite a few. While physical things are permanent, electronic files can be easily lost, forgotten, or damaged. Go for the physical thing.

If you don?t have to, don?t pay to view cards. If you have low cards or a pair of high cards, pay as little as possible to see the flop. Protect your hand with raising if the flop comes with high cards or a high pair. Do not attempt to steal blinds in the beginning stages of a tourney. It doesn't make sense to bet large amounts just so you can take low antes from other players. Save this tactic for later on. Be smart early if winning poker tournaments is your goal. If you have a hand, bet and raise. If the flop is not in your favor, check and fold. Wait for the right card, then strike down your opponents when you have the correct hand.

You must learn that playing more dose not mean winning more, it usually means losing more. The biggest mistake beginner poker players make is playing too many hands. When you first start playing poker, the number one mistake is that you play too many hands. Remember that you are allowed to fold!
