ExpressVPN Review: Fast Speed and Security make it Totally Worth the Cost

That's exactly what I witnessed when I was experimenting with ExpressVPN(opens in a new tab).



ExpressVPN registration was easy and the installation was a breeze. After receiving the email, I downloaded the application and then set it up in the background while working on other tasks on my computer. It was so simple , I didn't have to think about it. I finished what I was doing online and turned the VPN on to see more.



This is when I realized that I'd started it up earlier.



We tried ExpressVPN and found it to be reliable in all of these areas making it one of the top VPNs available. It's not exactly full of options to customize your experience. For that, you'll need NordVPN. But it does everything that most people would want in the first place, and if you need help, the support team is quick to respond.

I've never understood the expression "easy as pie". Pies can be quite complex particularly if you create your own crust. Do not worry about it. It's as easy as opening the microwave to heat up frozen meals in the microwave. You can play around with the protocols and set it up to connect automatically. However, you could simply open it up and let it work.



Both the "power" button and the button to select your server are front and center. Some devices, such as Android, Windows, or MacOS, let you create shortcuts directly from your home screen.



In terms of other options such as split tunneling or "network lock" goes, they're very well-organized, which means you won't have any trouble finding what you're looking for. If you're not sure what those terms mean the menus provide descriptions of what they are and allow you to experiment without any confusion.



I liked the fact that both the interface and the features are essentially the same across the four types of devices I tried that I tested: I tried a MacBook and a PC as well as an iPhone, and an Android phone. There's not much to take a look at however, what's on offer is modern and well-thought-out.

Express? Yes.



Technically speaking, Speedtest results showed that my connection speed dropped when compared to my normal connection. However, these numbers don't tell the whole story. Websites loaded just as quickly either way, and I could still watch HD video without buffering or pausing.



I also noticed that the recommended settings appear to do a decent job of providing the most optimal experience. I played around with the location and the protocol, but I never got more speedtest results than when I set them both to their default settings. These numbers aren't ideal, but they're good indicators to have on hand to refer to.



Unblocks the majority of things



One of the main reasons that people use VPNs is to access content that isn't available in their region. Although I used to believe that Netflix US had all the content, these tests proved that Netflix UK has some of my favorites shows, which isn't the case. The risk of this information aside however, the fact is that a VPN is a great tool for opening the web.



To add to the complexity to make things more complicated, some streaming platforms (hello again, Netflix) have implemented software to detect when you're connected through VPNs. VPN. This means providers who want to advertise they allow users to move through geoblocks can use this feature to navigate too.



ExpressVPN isn't perfect however it does a decent job in this regard. One example was when I tried to connect to Netflix when connected to ExpressVPN, but it spotted that my VPN was in operation and that the library was inaccessible. After trying a few servers and doing some research I discovered that other people were seeing the same thing. I learned that a person had contacted support and was informed that they were looking into the issue.



Sure it was, I tried again the next day and everything was working like normal. The same thing happened to BBC iPlayer, and since there wasn't much chatter about it, I contacted customer support myself. I was immediately contacted and before we had ended the conversation I tried it again and found it was back online.



A strong contender



It's expensive however, which is my main complaint. However, it works well enough to be worth the extra cost. The annual plan is an excellent option to save money and it did everything I needed. You can also claim your money back if you aren't satisfied with it after trying it.
