Eight popular light-up shoes that were sold at Big W are being recalled urgently
Product Safety Australia has recalled Caprice Australia's light-up thongs due to fears that the two batteries could pose an injury risk to young youngsters.
The thongs come in variety of themes, including Barbie, Frozen, Spiderman, Star Wars, L.O.L Surprise! OMG and Minecraft.
Caprice Australia's light-up thongs (above), have been recall due to concerns that the two batteries could be a safety hazard for young children.
PSA stated that the small battery compartment in the thongs might be exposed in time, making access to the two small buttons more accessible to children.

If children are exposed to the button batteries and ingest them, they may be afflicted with severe internal burns that can lead to grave illness or even death according to the report.
The batteries in button batteries also pose a choking hazard to young children.'
The thongs are on sale on the internet and in-store at Big W since September 7, 2020. However, they haven't been sold since May 11, 2022.

The thongs have been available on the internet and in stores at Big W since September 7, 2020, but have not been sold since May 11 2022.
Customers are advised to immediately stop using the shoes and return them to any Big W Australia store for full reimbursement.
