Ben Wheatley, a filmmaker, has shared his experience using Minecraft to create the set for his action movie Free Fire.
The film, which stars Brie Larson, Cillian Murphy, Sharlto Copley and Michael Smiley is dominated by a complicated shootout in an abandoned factory.
Wheatley revealed that he had designed the factory's layout first in Minecraft during the Q&A session on the movie in Inverness.
This was helpful in guiding physical scale models as well as the final set.
Wheatley director of High-Rise and Sightseers was in Inverness Monday as part of the tour of UK cinemas to promote his film, prior to when it goes on general release.
The Highland city was the home of the film-maker when he was a child in the 1970s.
Free Fire also stars Armie Hamer, while Martin Scorsese is the executive producer. Scorsese is a fan of Wheatley's film Kill List.
In the Q and A session at Eden Court he said he was working on a rewrite of graphic novelist Frank Miller's Hard Boiled.

Miller's Sin City stories have previously been made into films.
Wheatley stated that the adaptation was in the writing stage and could take up to four years before it's ready for production as film.
