Yes, the image above is of a map built in Minecraft. It's part of a 16-kilometer realistic terrain project that provides various topography options for you to build your own on. It's a stunning collection deserts and mountains, as well as swamps and forests that you can download and use as a backdrop for your own Minecraft builds.
The map is called Kythor, and it was built by qwryzu over the course of about two months of work using World Machine and World Painter. "I deliberately designed this map with wide open spaces to buildin," qwryzu explains. "Specifically, I made it with mods (shoutout to Immersive Railroading group). It's not the most detailed map I've ever created, but I hope that the map serves as an ideal background for large-scale builds."
You can download the map for yourself on Planet Minecraft. It is available for Java Edition and, although it was created in 1.12.2 it can be used with any version that is currently in use. Mcprofile However, qwryzu isn't certain if the changes to the world's height in 1.17 might cause problems.
