Minecraft streamer and content creator Technoblade has died following an extended battle with stage 4 cancer, his family announced today in a statement and a video.
Techno previously revealed he had been diagnosed with cancer last August and had been sporadically updating his followers about his condition while undergoing treatment and produce content on YouTube.

In the video, posted on June 30, Techno's father narrated a final, posthumous message entitled "so long nerds" that was written specifically for this occasion. It was full of the creator's trademark dry humor and dark humor. However it also serves as an end-of-year "thank you" to all those who have supported the Minecraft star throughout his career.
"Thank you for supporting my content over the years. Technoblade would be my choice in the event that I could live another 100 lives. As those were the happiest years of my life," Techno said.
"I hope you enjoyed my writing and that it made you smile. I hope you all go on to live long prosperous, happy, and prosperous lives because I love you all. Technoblade out."
In his message Techno who reveals that his name is actually Alex, talks about how the proceeds from merchandising and other "sell-out" pushes in the past year is being used to send his children to college, if they want to go. He also talks about thanking his viewers for giving him such happy moments. All while slideshows of images showing him throughout various stages of his treatment are shown on the screen.
Following Techno's final message his father explains how he originally intended to write and record the video prior to his death, but his deteriorating health and other factors prevented it from happening. His father claimed that he composed the message in the hospital and passed away around eight hours later.
Technoblade's father said that Technoblade was "the most wonderful child anyone could ever hope for." Technoblade is my closest friend. Thank you to all of you, for everything.
