Begin by opening the Minecraft launcher. If you don't have the launcher , you can download it here. The launcher should automatically show you the latest release. If it doesn't you can click the arrow right of the play button, and then select "Latest Release". Easy!
IOS or ANDROID
Open Google Play or App Store on your device and type in "Minecraft". If Minecraft is already installed it will prompt you to upgrade it if it isn't. If you've got the latest version, just click "Open" and start playing!

XBOX
Select Minecraft from the "My Games & Apps" menu and click the"more options. From the list, select "Manage game & add-ons" and then "Updates". Any updates will be available here. If there aren't any updates the game will be updated.
PLAYSTATION 4
The PS4 will automatically update Minecraft. If you don't wish to receive automatic updates on your PS4 Click the "options" button and then select "check for updates" from the new menu.
Minecraft for Windows should automatically update to the most recent version. Open Microsoft Store, click the three dots on the top right , and select "Downloads and Updates". From there, choose "Get updates" and all of your installed applications will be updated (including Minecraft)!
NINTENDO SWITCH
If you have Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition it is all you need to do is start the game and it will display a window with information about the new Minecraft. You can click the button to be redirected directly to the eShop where you can download the latest Minecraft. You can also visit the eShop to search for a Minecraft game. Subscribe to our channel on Switch and we'll notify you about future updates on your console!
FIRE TV
Proceed to Store by hovering over the magnifying glass icon, then type "Minecraft" and click it when it is displaying to download the update. Once the update is downloaded the icon will pop up in the Home tab under "Recent". To update the game, simply highlight Minecraft and press the menu button (3 horizontal lines) and then click 'More Info'. Under the description of the game the button for 'Update' will show up and pressing it will initiate the update.
