Minecraft convention company is sorry for Peterborough's protest-stricken event

After parents were angry and have criticized the convention on social media, organizers of a Minecraft convention stated that they were "truly sorry".
However, many claimed that they spent hours waiting to meet famous players and demanded refunds.
O'Brien Event Management said a new system to cut down on queues would be implemented in future.
The event, which was not approved by Mojang Minecraft, the Minecraft developer, offered fans the chance to meet YouTube celebrities take pictures, and play games.
Lisa O'Brien of O'Brien Event Management previously told the BBC that the line was 45 minutes long due to massive numbers of people who showed up on the day and not buying tickets in advance.
The company also posted an announcement on its website, stating: "We are truly sorry that our event didn't live up to a few peoples' expectations."
"MineVention is primarily a meet and greet' event , that means queuing but on the bright aspect, it gives kids the special chance to meet their heroes.
"We have considered all your comments about this event into consideration. Going forward, we will be putting in place a new queueing system and more content."
The company also released an official statement from Peterborough Arena, which was responsible for catering, which also blamed the "sheer number" of people who walked through the doors on the day of the event for the long queues.
Both parties said they would respond to any parents that have contacted them in due course.
Minecraft servers
Refunds haven't been discussed, but some parents claimed they were offered them the next day after complaining to staff.
Online ticketing company YPlan said it was "actively seeking information from the event partner to know their position on refunds , and will attempt to compensate all of our customers who were unhappy with the event".
