NEW YORK, Sept. 8th, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today new record-breaking tourist arrivals from the United States visiting Israel in the months of July and August. The country welcomed 78,000 total travelers from the United States in July 2022, a 4% increase from 2019 and 71,000 total visitors from the United States in August 2022 which is an increase of 13% from 2019.
Eyal Carlin from North America was the Tourism Commissioner. "The United States is the most popular destination for Israel inbound tourism. Actually, prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we were celebrating record-breaking numbers of tourists entering the country each month. It's a great positive trend that we're pleased to witness and expect an upward trend for months to follow."
Canada which isn't too far from that of the United States of America, is on track for surpassing the tourist numbers to Israel. The country had 7,200 tourists in July 2022 and 6,000 in tourists in August.
Gal Hana is the Consul and Director for Canada within the Israel Ministry of Tourism. We are getting close to our record-setting numbers for the year 2019 and we expect that this surge in tourism to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians are more comfortable at ease when they travel abroad.
In 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million global tourists 969,600 of whom came from the United States, and since its official reopening to any traveler regardless of vaccination status in May, the country has already witnessed more than 600,400 US visitors.
