NEW YORK - Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Today the Israel Ministry of Tourism revealed record-breaking numbers of tourists from the United States who visited Israel during July and August. 78,000 tourists from the United States visited Israel in July 2022. This represents a 4 percentage increase over 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States in august 2022. This is 13% more than 2019.
Eyal Carlin is the North American Tourism Commissioner. He stated, "It's so exciting to once more see an increasing number of tourists visiting Israel from America, already exceeding or even surpassing our record-breaking numbers for 2019". "The United States has been our largest market for Israel's tourism inbound. Prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, we had record number of Israeli tourism entries every month.

Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism stated that "it's so exciting to witness the way that tourism in Canada is booming." "We aren't far off our record in 2019 and we expect that the increase in travel to Israel will continue to increase because Canadians feel more confident traveling abroad."
Israel welcomed over 4.6 million tourists in the year of 2019. 969,600 came from the United States. The country's official reopening to all travelers in May has seen more than 600,000.
