NEW YORK - Sep. 8 2022, /PRNewswire/ The Israel Ministry of Tourism today released new records for arrivals of tourists in Israel from the United States in July and august. The country welcomed 78,000 travelers from the United States in July 2022, a 4% increase from 2019 and 71,000 total visitors from the United States in August 2022 which is an increase of 13% from 2019.
"It is thrilling to witness a new rise in the number of tourists visiting Israel from the United States, already reaching and surpassing our record-breaking numbers for the year 2019" stated Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States remains our biggest market for tourism to Israel. Before the COVID-19 epidemic, we were celebrating record-breaking monthly numbers of tourists entering the country. We are delighted to witness this change and are expecting a steady upward trend for months or even years.
נווה פריצקי Not far behind the United States, Canada is in the process of surpassing its tourist arrivals in Israel by 7,200 tourists in July 2022 and 6,600 in August.
Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism stated that "it's amazing to see how tourism in Canada is recovering." We are still not far from our record numbers for 2019, and we anticipate that this growth in Israel travel will continue to grow as Canadians feel more comfortable travelling across the world."
Israel welcomed more than 4.6million tourists in 2019, of which 969,600 came from the United States. Since May, when the country opened to all visitors, regardless of their vaccination status, more than 600,000.400 US visitors have visited Israel.
