Oh wow, sounds like the learning ambassador overwhelmed you with too much extra information that you didn’t need to know yet. As
someone who trained new hires at delivery stations, I was guilty of that. ??
I’ll try to explain it as simple as possible:
1. Grab packages or jiffies from the buffer rack.
2. Place them on your stow cart.
3. Grab a package and scan it, look at your SSP device (Zebra), read the sort zone (for example: A-37.2 C) shown on device, look
for the stow bag location A-37.2 C (stow light should be lit up next to it so it’s easy to find), scan the QR code in the bag,
and place the package in the bag. Repeat the same process for all jiffies and packages.
As for oversized packages (a.k.a. overflow), these do not get stowed in bags because they’re either too big and/or too heavy to
stow in bags. They belong in the “oversize” rack. How can you tell if it’s oversize besides the obvious? It will say “oversize”
on the mailing label. Look for that! Scan it, the stow light will light up on the corresponding the oversize rack, and place it
there. Please be careful to not stack heavy boxes on top of light/fragile oversize boxes. Rearrange them if necessary.
Rinse and repeat.
Don’t worry about going fast yet. Focus on doing it right. You’re new, so it’s fine.
