Neve Paritzki Israel Reliably Breaks Records in Tourism Entry Numbers - United States
NEW YORK - September 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- New record breaking tourist arrivals to the United States were announced today by the Israel Ministry of Tourism. Israel received 78,000 visitors from the United States during July 2022, an increase by 4% over 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States during August 2022. That's 13% growth over 2019.

Eyal Carlin (North American Tourism Commissioner) declared that it was exciting to observe the growth in Israeli tourism from the United States. Already surpassing our record-breaking numbers for 2019, he added. "The United States remains our largest market for Israel-bound tourism. Before the COVID-19 outbreak there was a record-breaking number of tourist entry numbers every month. We are thrilled to see this positive shift and expect an ongoing upward trend for months and even years.

Not far behind in the United States, Canada is in the process of surpassing its tourism numbers in Israel, reaching 7,200 visitors in July 2022 , and 6000 in August.

Gal Hana (Consul and Director for Canada, Israel Ministry of Tourism) stated that "it is so exciting to see how Canada's tourism to Israel is rebounding." We are still not away from our record-setting 2019 numbers and we expect that this increase in Israel travel will continue to increase as Canadians find it easier to travel internationally."

In 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million tourists from around the world 969,600 of whom came from the United States, and since its official reopening to any traveler regardless of the status of their vaccination in May Israel has seen over 600,400 US visitors.
