Roblox has taken away an integral component of the game. Minecraft The developer said it was due to a licensing issue.
On Tuesday, the massively multiplayer online game's developer Roblox Corporation announced the decision on Twitter and also announced that an immediate replacement was scheduled to launch on the platform.
"Related sounds, Roblox has removed the "oof!" sound and created a default sound that launches today, the company tweeted.
Kotaku mentions that the "oof" sound was made by Tommy Tallarico, a former game composer and Intellivision CEO. This isn't the first time Roblox has faced licensing issues.
In case you're wondering, "oof" is the sound a character makes when they die in the game or are reset but it's evolved beyond the sound of an exclamation and has grown into a well-loved rallying cry for the Roblox community.
Roblox announced that it will expand its Avatar Shop (where you can purchase custom clothes, accessories, and other items) with more "old and new" sounds soon.
