NEW YORK - Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Today the Israel Ministry of Tourism announced record-breaking numbers of travelers from the United States who visited Israel during the months of July and August. 78,000 tourists from the United States visited Israel in July 2022. This is a four% increase over 2019, and 71,000 visitors from the United States in august 2022. This is 13% more than the number of visitors in 2019.
"It is thrilling to see yet another increase in tourism to Israel from the United States, already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking numbers of 2019," said Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States is the most popular destination for Israel inbound tourism. Actually, prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we were celebrating record breaking numbers of tourism entry month after month. It's a great positive shift that we are happy to see and we anticipate an upward trajectory for years to come."
Just like the United States, Canada is also on track to exceed the number of tourists visiting Israel, reaching 7,200 visitors in July 2022 , and 6,600 in August.
Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism stated that "it's amazing to see the way that tourism in Canada is booming." We are still not far from our record numbers in 2019, and we are hoping that this growth in Israel travel will continue to grow as Canadians are more comfortable traveling abroad."
Israel received more tourists from all over the world during 2019 than any other country. 969 600 were American. נווה פריצקי Israel's official opening for all tourists was in May of 2018. Israel has been home to over 600,400 US travellers since that time.
