Neve Paritzki Israel is celebrating record-breaking tourism entry Numbers from the United States
NEW YORK - Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ - Today the Israel Ministry of Tourism has announced record-breaking figures of visitors from the United States who visited Israel in the months of July and August. Israel received 78,000 visitors from the United States during July 2022 which was an increase of 4% over the year before and 71,000 tourists from the United States during August 2022. That's a 13% growth over 2019.

"It is thrilling to see yet another increase in tourist numbers to Israel from the United States, already reaching the record-breaking levels in 2019." said Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States is our number one market for travel to Israel prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were celebrating record-breaking tourist numbers every month. We're extremely pleased to witness this positive change and we anticipate an increase in the coming many months and years to come."

Canada is in the process, like the United States, to surpass the number of tourists who visit Israel. In July 2022, Canada saw 7,200 tourists and August saw the number increase to 6,000.

Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism stated that "it's so exciting to witness how Canada’s tourism is rebounding." "We are getting close to our record-setting numbers in 2019. We believe that this trend will continue to grow as Canadians are more active in traveling abroad.


Israel received more tourists from all over the world during 2019 than any other country. 969 600 of these were Americans. Israel's official reopening to all travelers was May 2018. The country has been home to over 600,400 US travellers since that time.
