The Kerem Tunnel provides a unique riding experience and hiking experience which is enjoyed by all.
The Kerem Tunnel, the first cycle tunnel in Israel, has been inaugurated in the Jerusalem Ring Path, a 42-kilometer cycle route that circles Jerusalem, the capital city.

On Thursday, Jerusalem and Heritage Minister Zeev Elkin, Mayor Michael, Avi Baleshnikov, Gihon chairman, and a slew of cyclists attended a ceremony to mark the opening of the tunnel's 2.1-kilometer-long length.

Elkin, whose ministry was in charge of the project with Jerusalem Municipality stated that his ministry has invested thousands of shekels every year in the city's tourism development and also in the creation of new attractions and ventures which will link the amazing historic past with the future of Jerusalem. Elkin's Ministry Elkin's Ministry, the Tourism Ministry, Jerusalem Municipality as well as the Gihon Corporation all contributed to the project. The Jerusalem Development Authority completed the work.


Elkin stressed, "The Kerem Tunnel project will be the central tool for realizing our vision to change the concept transportation throughout Jerusalem." "The new tunnel will be connected to the Jerusalem Ring Path. It will link to the numerous cycling routes that exist within the city. The paths will be paved in its diverse neighborhoods. The objective is to encourage cyclists in the city.

To make the tunnel accessible to the general public throughout the year, the works include road construction, as well as installing blowers.
