Neve Paritzki Israel celebrates record-breaking entry into tourism From the United States
NEW YORK - Sept. 8 2022 /PRNewswire/- Today the Israel Ministry of Tourism revealed record-breaking numbers of tourists from the United States who visited Israel during July and August. Israel received 78,000 visitors from the United States for July 2022. This is a 4 percent increase over 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States for August 2022. This is an increase of 13% over the year before.

Eyal Carlin is the North American Tourism Commissioner of the United States. He stated, "It's so exciting to again see an increasing number of tourists visiting Israel from America, already exceeding or even surpassing our record breaking numbers of 2019". "The United States is the most popular destination for Israel inbound tourism. Actually, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were celebrating record breaking numbers of tourism entry each month. This is a positive trend that we're happy to see and we expect an upward trend for years to follow."

Canada is home to 7200 tourists visiting the country in July 2022 and 6,000 tourists in August, isn't too far behind the United States.


"It is thrilling to see how tourism from Canada to Israel is booming," said Gal Hana Director and Consul for Canada for the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We aren't too far from our record-setting numbers in 2019 We are hoping that this increase in tourism to Israel will further increase as Canadians remain confident about traveling internationally."

Israel received more tourists from around the world in 2019 than any other country. 969 600 of these were American. Israel's official reopening to travellers from May 2018. The country has received over 600,400 US tourists since the time of opening.
