NEW YORK - Sept. 8 2022, /PRNewswire/- Today the Israel Ministry of Tourism revealed record-breaking numbers of travelers from the United States who visited Israel in July and August. The country welcomed 78,000 total travelers from the United States in July 2022, a 4% increase from the year before and 71,000 travelers from the United States in August 2022 that's an increase of 13% from the year before.
Eyal Carlin from North America was the Tourism Commissioner. "The United States remains our biggest market for tourism to Israel. Before the COVID-19 epidemic that was in the news, we had record-breaking tourist entry numbers every month. We are delighted to see this positive shift and anticipate an upward trend that will continue for months or even years.
Canada with 7200 tourists visiting the country in July 2022, and 6,000 in August, isn't far behind the United States.
Gal Hana, Consul to Canada and Director for Canada for Canada at the Israel Ministry of Tourism stated that it was exciting to see Canada's tourism to Israel growing. נווה פריצקי "We aren't too far from our record-setting numbers in 2019 and we anticipate that this increase in travel to Israel will continue to grow as Canadians continue to feel more confident about traveling internationally."
Israel received more tourists from all over the world during 2019 than any other nation. 969 600 were Americans. Israel's official opening for all tourists was in May of 2018. The country has already welcomed more than 600,400 US travelers since then.
