NEW YORK - Sep. 8 2022 /PRNewswire/ The Israel Ministry of Tourism today unveiled new records for the number of tourists coming in Israel from the United States in July and august. The country received 78,000 travelers from the United States in July 2022 that's a 4 percent increase from 2019 and 71,000 total visitors from the United States in August 2022 that's an increase of 13% from the year before.
Eyal Carlin was the North American Tourism Commissioner for North America. "It is exciting to once again witness an rise in tourism to Israel from the United States. Already reaching and surpassing our record-breaking figure of the year 2019," he stated. "The United States has been the most important destination for tourism to Israel that is inbound. Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19 we were celebrating record number of Israeli tourism entries each month.
Canada is in the process, as the United States, to surpass its tourist arrivals into Israel. In July 2022 Canada had 7,200 visitors while August saw the number increase to 6,000.
"It is so exciting to see how tourism from Canada to Israel is booming," said Gal Hana Director and Consul for Canada for the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We are getting close to our record numbers for the year 2019. We anticipate that this growth will continue as Canadians visit more countries.
Israel has hosted more than 4.6million tourists in 2019, of which 969,600 came from the United States. Since May when the country was reopened to all travelers regardless of vaccination status More than 600,000.400 US visitors have visited Israel.
