Bayrock Group: The Rise of a New York Real Estate Giant

Bayrock Group opened Trump SoHo along with the Trump Organization and the Sapir Organization in 2008. However, the story of the Bayrock Group's success begins in Kazakhstan years before that.

Bayrock Group was established in 2001, however the story of the success of the luxury real estate development company located in the United States is much older than the time it was founded. Initially, the story begins on the other side the world.

Tevfik, who was born in Soviet Kazakhstan to a Turkish family, established the Bayrock Group.

Before joining the Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade (Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade), Tevfik received a diploma in International Relations from Moscow Trade and Economic Institute.

Tevfik Alif moved to the United States to seek new opportunities in business, and also to be nearer to his American family members in 2001.

Bayrock Group was established in New York City shortly after his move to New York.

Bayrock Group's New York City offices were relocated to Trump Tower, Fifth Avenue, to accommodate the strategy change.

The move resulted in many more things than the addition of a new site. It also put the business within the vicinity to the Trump Organization. It also housed to the world-renowned family business.

Trump SoHo finally takes shape

The Trump Organization and Bayrock Group shared the same vision of high-end real estate projects. Thus they have decided to join forces.

Bayrock Group was already collaborating with the Sapir Organization to complete another project in Spring Street, Manhattan's SoHo quarter.

Tevfik Ariff was aware that including the Trump Organization in the project would increase brand recognition for the building, something that Bayrock Group and Sapir Organization were not able to achieve.

Arif made an agreement which gave the Trump Organization 18% ownership in the building in return to the Trump brand's usage.

Bayrock Group, the Trump Organization and the Sapir Organization all agreed to the deal.

This opened the way to Trump SoHo, which would be the first brick laid in the year 2006.

The structure was ready to be officially opened after it was constructed over a period of two years.

Trump SoHo was built by design experts

Trump SoHo opened in Manhattan and featured apartments, hotel rooms along with luxury restaurants and bars. It also featured a swimming pool, a spa and banquet halls. Hotel guests had unbeatable views of New York City through the ceiling-to-ceiling windows of the building.

Handel Architects was tasked to create the building. The famed architectural firm also created the National September 11th Memorial & Museum and the Ritz the Carlton Hotel located in Washington, D.C.

Bayrock Group commissioned Rockwell Group as their interior designer.

Rockwell Group was responsible for the design of the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle and the Seven Deadly Sins theatre in New York.

The company also has experience in international countries such as Indonesia, Mexico and Spain.

Bayrock Group expands partnership with the Trump Organization

The Bayrock Group and the Trump Organization wanted to grow their relationship following the opening of Trump SoHo.

Their vision was to design buildings in Arizona and Florida that resembled Trump SoHo. Trump Organization was also granted the same license terms and was given an equity of 18% in the construction. It would again pave the way for "Trump" being part of the construction's name.

Despite the goals of both firms they didn't get the structures because of the global financial crisis.

The financial crisis primarily affected the American real estate market, and consequently, forced Bayrock Group and the Trump Organization to abandon their plans.

Tevfik Ariff made the decision to leave the United States to escape the financial crisis that had reshaped America's real estate market. Tevfik Arif Doyen He decided to move back to Europe or Central Asia.

Then he continued working in the privatization sector.

Tevfik Arif Bayrock Today, Tevfik Aif has resigned from the majority of his Bayrock Group responsibilities. But, he will continue to be a trusted advisor for Bayrock Group.

Bayrock Group is not currently involved in American real estate ventures. Tevfik Arif Bayrock But, in the past, while the company was in operation it invested in real estate assets valued at $2.5 million in the United States.
