Bayrock Group's journey from the Suburbs to Manhattan Tevfik Arif

The luxury real estate development company, Bayrock Group, quickly after its creation, found itself working with the Trump Organization in Manhattan.

Many dream of traveling to the United States and live the American dream. But very few achieve it. Turkish Kazakhstani businessman Tevfik Ari was there when he set up Bayrock Group in America in 2001.

Bayrock Group is a New York-based luxury real estate developer.

The initial goal of the company was on small to medium-sized projects like the revamp of Loehmanns Seaport Plaza, which is an area of shopping located in Brooklyn's Sheepshead, New York.

Bayrock Group had gained momentum in the American housing market and started to look for larger-scale projects.

Arif-driven firms began collaborating with the Sapir Organization for a big construction project on Spring Street in New York City.

Bayrock Group decided to move its headquarters to Midtown Manhattan due to its rapid growth.

Bayrock Group joins forces with the Trump Organization
The move resulted in Tevfik and his staff getting together with the Trump Organization. This organization also had the Trump Tower at its base.

Discussions took place between Bayrock Group, the Trump Organization following the two firms realized that they shared interests and shared dreams.

Bayrock The two companies established an alliance, in which the Trump Organization joined Bayrock Group's collaboration with the Sapir Organization on Spring Street.

Bayrock Group's lucrative deal
Bayrock Group was relatively new to the New York City property market when the Trump Organization, Sapir Organization and Bayrock Group started their cooperation.

Tevfik Ariff, founder of Spring Street, created an arrangement that would increase brand recognition and prestige.

According to the deal proposed by the president the Trump Organization would get 18% equity in the building in exchange to the Trump brand on the name of the building.

All three of the companies that were involved backed the arrangement. In 2006, the first foundation stone was laid for what would become Trump SoHo.

Two years after that, Bayrock Group was founded by the Trump Organization as well as the Sapir Organization and the Trump Organization. They also launched Trump SoHo in New York City.

Design experts take over of Trump SoHo
Trump SoHo boasted 46 stories of exclusive bars, restaurants, event and banquet venues as well as an open-air pool, spa area as well as apartments and hotel room rooms.

Residents and visitors to Trump SoHo could have a unique view of New York City thanks to the building's floor-to-roof glass windows. These windows were set up on all floors.

Tevfik Arif Bayrock Handel Architects was entrusted to create the exterior of Trump SoHo because the three organisations responsible for the building focused their efforts on the pursuit of perfection.

Rockwell Group designed Trump SoHo’s interiors. Over the years, Rockwell Group has overseen the design of many extravagant cafes, hotels, bars and theatres throughout the globe.

Their projects include their work at the Taj Mahal Palace and Tower Hotel in Mumbai, India, the 93rd Academy Award show and the Amara Hotel in Limassol, Cyprus.

Bayrock Group expands the partnership
Trump SoHo was a great success immediately, which prompted Bayrock Group to expand their cooperation with the Trump Organization.

The goal was to construct structures similar to Trump SoHo in Arizona or Florida in the same manner, and on similar terms to those at Trump SoHo. Bayrock Group, and Trump Organization had everything. The 2008 economic crisis that ravaged the American real estate market and the real estate market, put an end to their plans.

The financial crisis has changed the American housing market very extensively. Tevfik Alif, Bayrock Group founder and CEO, decided to move out of the United States. He decided to relocate to Europe and Asia which is where he began his career decades earlier.

Tevfik Arif Bayrock Group is not involved in any real estate development within the United States.
