It's unlikely that Minecraft will meet its August release date on PS4 after it failed Sony's certification tests. It's now back to the fixing board at 4J Studios. The team will need to submit the game to be certified before it can be released.
4J has been working on fixing issues and squishing bugs throughout the month, not just for the PS4 version but in the upcoming Xbox One and Vita releases too. Minecraft skins We have reached out to the studio to confirm the delay and to find out if it would affect the PS4 version only or other platforms. All three versions are scheduled to be released this month.
Sony discovered some issues we need to fix in their final test of #MinecraftPS4:( We're working on it, but we'll need to repeat the process.

Players who have downloaded Xbox 360 and PS3 versions will be capable of upgrading to Xbox One and PS4 respectively for $5 - that offer will last for at least one year after the date of release. In terms of what's new with the new ports, expect larger worlds and greater draw distance than in the previous console releases.
As for the Vita version, it's cross-buy with PS3 which means that those who purchased Minecraft on the console get the handheld port for free, and new buyers can unlock the game on both PS3 and Vita. Similar to the other ports, the price for grinding your pickaxe on Vita is $20.
