My son turned 9 yesterday! NINE!! !



A Minecraft Party was requested. It is easy to find other people's ideas and create one. So I came here and created this board. The Sunny By Design had some amazing things. Here's a tribute to Minecraft Party..



Creeper juice. Those tiny Chubby drinks. You can tear off the paper and then put on your faces.



Torches= twisted pretzel sticks. I could have coated them with red melted chocolate but time was running out. The slime balls were intended to be green jello squares, but that was left home in my fridge. The zombie boogies were wasabi beans!



Sorry for the blurry image below. I made little TNT bundles and then decided not to make them. Instead, I put them in glass. My favorite moment of the evening was when I declared," there are still plenty of fruits and vegetables left. Minecraft profiles If you don't eat them now I'm putting them into your bags for loot!" There was a big woosh to the table and the food was being eaten. :



The cake was a brownie instead of cake. I decided to leave the edges uniced since the brownie would be crumpier. The icing was a Fluffy Boiled Frosting. It was not sweet at all. We had made too much cake so I made meringue puffs. They were also taken to home.



Here's a new thing I learned: to make meringue you beat the egg whites, heat your oven to 350, put them in, turn the oven off and wait until the oven cools down. It's simple.



Signs and grass leaves were taken from Sizzix dies. The big, honkin' heavy ones. It is possible to do this in the cuttlebug with a B plate on the bottom and top of the die. Do not use the A plate a t all. To let loose some party spirit, we rented the local arena.



We go to general skating at least once per week. this boy has made a huge leap over the past few weeks. He even looks like a skater now!

Loot bag time!



And the loot inside. I don't like bags for loot which contain lots of small items. So I gave handmade creeper cookies, which took two days and a trip to the local bakery to freeze (Thanks Flying Fox) as well as an album of Minecraft Parodies. I searched for the title on You Tube and gave it to my husband to do his magic. Then, some snacks.

It was great fun!



Edited May 8: Wow, you are probably on a reading frenzy for minecraft party ideas.What we would not do for our kids. This post has received nearly 10,000 hits to date. In my world, that's a lot.
