How can you acquire a pair of Minecraft capes you think? There are rumors about a mythical piece of cloth that graces the shoulders of the most prestigious Minecraft players. The legends talk of numerous Minecraft capes handed out to the fortunate few over the years. The latest news (sigh) is that capes can also alter the appearance of Minecraft Elytra, the magical wings found in end ships, as they share the same space on a player's back. How to activate Minecraft capes



If you own an official Minecraft cape, you are able to equip them before launching the game. The capes you have Bedrock caps are only available in that version. This is also true for any capes you earn in the Minecraft Java version.



For the Bedrock version start the app and then click the button to open the Dressing Room from the main menu. Next, click the tab on the left of the screen with a red cape and Mojang's logo. This will show all of your capes that are available, so choose one and click equip.



For the Java version, you must open the Launcher and click on Minecraft: Java Edition on the tabs to the left. You will see a number of options that include Skins. Click this option to bring up all your current skins. From here, you can create an entirely new skin or modify an existing one. You can view all of your officially-available capes by clicking on the option to choose Skin File.



Find a cape by using Minecraft mods



What if you desperately would like your avatar to sport a cape right now and aren't interested in the free cape that you can use for your migration? With the help of mods, you can get your own cape to bellow behind you while you walk! Mods like the Advanced Capes Mod make it possible to obtain any of the most sought-after caps in the game, or any cape that you can think of.



There's a caveat to this that other players who you meet on multiplayer Minecraft servers won't be able to see your cape unless they have the same mods installed.
