Three Indian Rapper Murderers Are Arrested

In the month of November, Amritsar held a vigil for Sidhu Moose Wala, the murdered Punjabi rapper.



Indian police have arrested three men accused of killing hip-hop superstar Sidhu Moose Wala. They also seized weapons including a grenade launcher belonging to the suspects.



Moose Wala, also known as Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, was last month murdered in his car in the northern state Punjab.



The 28-year-old was a well-known performer in India as well as among Punjabi communities around the world, especially in Canada and Britain.



Special police commissioner H.S. On Monday, H.S. Dhaliwal, special police commissioner, informed reporters in Delhi that three suspects had been arrested in Gujarat's western state over the past weekend.



Police recovered explosive grenades with high explosives, a rocket launcher, an assault rifle, and electric detonators from the suspects.



Local media reported that Goldy Brar, a Canadian gangster, claimed responsibility for the murder of the rapper and was in contact with the hitmen the morning of it.



According to the Hindustan Times newspaper, a police officer stated that Brar had spoken to one of the shooters the day before the incident and instructed him to ensure the death of Moose Wala.



"If guns don't work, kill him in an explosion that was his instruction," the officer told the newspaper.



Moose Wala rose to fame by releasing catchy tunes that criticized rival rappers and politicians and portraying himself as a man who stood up for the pride of his community and justice, as well as shot down enemies.



He was criticized for his proclamation of gun culture through music videos, in which he often posed with guns.



His murder also brought to light organized crime in Punjab which is a major route for drugs that enter India via Pakistan and Afghanistan.



Many observers attribute the increase in gang violence and the rise in illegal weapons use to the market for narcotics, which mainly includes heroin and opium.
