Technoblade, Popular Minecraft Creator, Dies from Cancer at 23

LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) - Technoblade, a top YouTube creator who specialized in Minecraft let's-play videos, has died one year after he was diagnosed with the diagnosis of cancer according to a statement from his family. He was 23 years old.



In a touching YouTube video that was posted on Technoblade's channel on Thursday the YouTuber's dad announced that his son had passed away. His father said, "He was the most amazing kid anyone could ever want." "I really miss Technoblade."



The Thursday video, entitled "so long geeks," featured a posthumous message from its creator to his fans. Blastermusic The message was read by his father. "Hello everyone, Technoblade here. Technoblade's message revealed that his real name was Alex. "Thank you all for supporting my work over the years. I believe Technoblade would be my preferred choice if I had another hundred lives. They were the most enjoyable years of my life.



On Technoblade's online store there is a message that reads "In the memory of his father, a portion of proceeds from all online orders will be donated to a fantastic organization known as curesarcoma.org," linking to the Sarcoma Foundation of America.



Technoblade who's avatar on YouTube was a crown king pig, currently boasts 10.8 million users on his YouTube channel. "I play video games too often. I might not be the best but I do have hot elbows," his YouTube bio reads.



The video was posted on Thursday with the following statement: "We, the Technoblade family, wanted to let you know how much he loved and respected his fans. Technoblade was always seeking ways to please and reward his followers from the beginning. He was able to maintain his good-natured humility despite his successes and maintain a delightful balance between his confidence and his self-deprecating wit. We ask you to respect his wishes to keep his identity secret and to avoid becoming famous.



The statement continued, "This year has been difficult for our son as we battled stage four cancer." He never complained and continued to make use of his shrewd mind to conquer what he thought was almost impossible odds. My son's determination on this journey was a shining lesson to all of us who were privileged to be able to walk with him. Thank you for sharing the journey he took, as he did the work he loved to do for his beloved fans."



According to his father, Technoblade composed his final message to his fans approximately eight hours before he died. "I doubt he said everything he wanted to say, but I think he was able to get the most important points across," his father said.



Technoblade revealed his diagnosis of cancer in August 2021. He said he started feeling discomfort in his right arm the previous month, initially thinking it was a recurrent stress injury from playing. After some time the shoulder began swelling and thought he could have fractured bone. Then, he was diagnosed with cancer.
