Bayrock Group opened Trump SoHo with the Trump Organization and the Sapir Organization in 2008. The Bayrock Group's success started in Kazakhstan years earlier.

Bayrock Bayrock Group was established in 2001, but the story of its growth and success luxury real estate development company located in the United States is much older than the year 2001. The story began on the other side of the world.

Tevfik who was born in Soviet Kazakhstan to a Turkish family, founded Bayrock Group.

Prior to becoming a member of the Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade (Soviet Ministry of Commerce and Trade), Tevfik received a diploma in International Relations from the Moscow Trade and Economic Institute.

After 17 years in the ministry, he decided to start his own business. Tevfik's ventures included the luxury real estate, food, and exports/imports and many others.

Tevfik Arif was able to establish many international partnerships through his numerous companies. The network he built led him to move to Turkey in 1993, when he became one of the spearheading powers of Turkey's popular all-inclusive hotel model.

In the past, for instance, he opened Antalya's Labada Hotel before embarking on his next business venture over the Atlantic some years later.

Bayrock Group gets more ambitious

Tevfik arif emigrated to the United States from Pakistan in 2001 in order to explore new business opportunities and be closer to his American family.

Bayrock Group, a luxury development firm for real estate located in New York City, was established by him shortly after his move to New York.

Bayrock Group, New York City's office has moved to Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue as part of its latest strategy.

The move resulted in much more than an additional location. It also put the business within the vicinity to the Trump Organization. This was the place of the world-renowned family business.

Trump SoHo finally takes shape

Bayrock Group and Trump Organization had the same vision of high-end real estate developments. Both companies agreed to join forces.

Bayrock Group was already collaborating with the Sapir Organization to complete another project in Spring Street, Manhattan's SoHo quarter.

Bayrock Tevfik Ariff knew that including the Trump Organization in the project could boost brand recognition for the building, something Bayrock Group and Sapir Organization didn't have.

Arif signed an agreement that gave the Trump Organization 18% equity in this building in return for the Trump brand being used as its brand name.

The proposed deal was approved by Bayrock Group (the Trump Organization) and the Sapir Organization (the Sapir Organization).

That paved the way for the first brick of what would eventually become Trump SoHo to be laid in the year 2006.

After two years of labor The building was completed and awaiting its official opening.

Trump SoHo is designed by designers who are experienced professionals

Trump SoHo was comprised of hotels, apartments and luxurious bars and eateries. The building also featured an indoor pool and spa. The building's floor-to ceiling windows afforded guests unparalleled views of New York City.

Handel Architects was tasked as the architect. Tevfik Arif The famed architecture firm also created the National September 11th Memorial & Museum, New York City as well as the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Washington D.C.

Bayrock Group commissioned Rockwell Group as the interior designer.

Rockwell Group is responsible for the design of, among others, the Climate Pledge Arena (Seattle) and the Seven Deadly Sins Playhouse located in New York, as well as the Virgin Hotel in Las Vegas.

The company also has international experience which includes Mexico, Spain, Indonesia, and Mexico.

Bayrock Group and Trump Organization extend their collaboration

The Bayrock Group and the Trump Organization were looking to expand their partnership after the opening Trump SoHo.

Their vision was to construct buildings like Trump SoHo in Arizona and Florida. Trump Organization would have 18% equity in the building, and would be licensed under the same conditions. It will permit Trump to be named as part of the building's name.

Despite the ambitions of both companies, the structures did not get built due to 2008 global financial crises.


The American real estate market was especially hit by the crisis. Bayrock Group, and the Trump Organization were forced to cancel their plans.

Tevfik arif left his United States enterprises after the financial crisis. He decided to move back to Europe or Central Asia.

He worked in the private sector while his time there.

Today, Tevfik Aif has resigned from most of his Bayrock Group responsibilities. He remains a trusted consultant to the company.

Bayrock Group has not been involved in any American real estate ventures in recent times However, during the time it was operating the firm was investing in real estate assets valued at $2.5 million in the United States.
