To Survive in The World

You can try to survive in the world of danger, craft all manner of items and even just build a massive pink woolly castle just because you feel like it.

Minecraft comes in two modes: Survival and Creative. Lion is the king of the jungle Creative is the mode where you have unlimited quantities of every block which you may do with what you want, Survival challenges you to gather the resources yourself in attempts to defeat the monsters that emerge at night in the Minecraft world. To survive in this world, you may craft anything from swords to minecarts as well as jukeboxes and bread. this is where the major issue with Minecraft comes into play.

It's difficult to get fully immersed in a game that requires you to constantly search the internet for recipes to make. There is no guide in the game. Another problem is the recent addition of enchantments and potions. These seem very tinkering and inconsistent, and are mostly useless. The way that Minecraft worked until full release was that it received regular updates for free that added new features, usually according to suggestions from players. I'm afraid that after the launch of the full game, these updates will become "expansion packs" that are only available through payment. Many of these updates were not worth the cost for, and so if this situation develops it will likely affect the game. The game's ending is a different problem. It's unplanned, and the game's difficulty level is quite high at the moment.

These are just one of the many positive aspects of this game. One is the game's graphics. This means that most computers can apply textures easily and allows for customization. This is evident in the huge amount of texture packs and mods that are available for the game. This is because mods cannot be implemented in-game. Players must be able to use technical skills to use them.

It should be noted that there is an option for multiplayer in this game. It allows you to join servers with friends ( a program for which can be downloaded from Minecraft's website) and create, mine, and build with friends. However, the only method to join servers is to directly enter the ip address and even though the game will save that server from thereon it is still a bit frustrating that you can't find a list of available servers that you can join. Some features of the single player game don't work in multiplayer which is very frustrating for players who want to explore Minecraft's full potential with friends.

To conclude Minecraft is a great game with quaint graphics and a thrilling gameplay, however the many faults it has to offer make me think it perhaps better off being in beta for a bit longer to work out the kinks, and to adjust some of the features in the game. With all these points in mind, I'm giving Minecraft 7/10. I hope this review won't be not as relevant in a few months due to any changes.
