Every week we release early versions of Minecraft updates to test out new features, shake off the wrinkles and squash bugs before they are released to more people. It's a great opportunity for gamers like you to experience the new stuff we're working on before it officially launches!
If the idea of seeing new things for the first time has you excited and you're not afraid of potentially running into some glitches during the process Take a look at your favorite platform below!
These versions are unstable by nature and therefore, things could be odd, wacky or just plain wrong. The game might crash and things you build might be damaged. It's not a huge risk but it's still a risk!
In the Java Edition, we put out regular test versions referred to as Snapshots. Simply go to the Launch Options tab, turn on Snapshots, and then select the most recent snapshot by clicking the Arrow next to the Play button on the main tab.
XBOX One
Xbox One now has Minecraft Preview It is available for free for all owners of a digital copy of Minecraft. It will also be available through Xbox Game Pass later in the year. Unfortunately, Preview isn't accessible to disc owners. Learn more about Preview on the Minecraft Preview FAQ.
WINDOWS 10 & 11
Windows now provides Minecraft Preview for free to all Minecraft owners and subscribers to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Learn more about Preview on the Minecraft Preview FAQ!
IPHONES AND IPADS
iOS now comes with Minecraft Preview, which players can opt into by clicking this link whenever slots are available. We'll occasionally open more slots and will remove users who are not active to let new players to join. Learn more about Preview on the Minecraft Preview FAQ!
Android comes with a Beta program which you can join at any point if you already own Minecraft. You will be replacing your current Minecraft version with this Beta version by joining the Beta program. The Beta version cannot access Realms or Featured servers. Free forums It can only be played in multiplayer worlds with other Beta users.
To join the Android Beta, click here and then click "Become a Tester." If you decide to exit the Beta then you can follow the same link and click "Leave the program" to leave the program. After you leave, you'll need to uninstall and then install Minecraft to return to the official version. Please note that worlds you play during the beta may not be playable outside of the beta until the next version is released after having left the Beta program.
