Father of Technoblade, YouTube Minecraft Star Says his Son has Died

His father, who doesn't identify himself, reads an email from his son that begins: "Hello everyone. Technoblade is here. If you're watching this, I am dead."



The message continues to reveal Technoblade’s first name, Alex. He didn’t use it online. The video also contains some pictures of Alex with loved ones. Alex had never presented himself in his YouTube videos, preferring instead to present himself as his avatar: a crowned and sword-wielding pig.



Alex's letter says that "If I had another hundred years in my life, I believe I would choose Technoblade again every time." "Those were the most blissful years of my life."



His father, who remains emotional throughout the video says that he and his son argued for months about whether or not to make an end-of-the-line video. His father says that Alex wrote the letter and died just eight hours later.

On social media, Technoblade's acquaintances and fans have praised him for his wit and for being a role model among Minecraft players.



Minecraft is different than other games because its creator, Microsoft does not have control over the servers on which players can meet online. Instead, players can build their own servers or join one made by someone else, resulting in an enormous universe of worlds within the Minecraft universe.



Hypixel, which runs a network of Minecraft servers, announced that it had designed a digital memorial book that allows users to write messages that could be printed and then sent to the family of Technoblade.
