It's looking unlikely Minecraft will be able to meet its August release date on PS4 after it failed the Sony certification tests. It's now back to the fixing board at 4J Studios. The team will have to submit the game again for certification before it is released.
4J has been hard at work fixing bugs and resolving issues throughout the month. This is not only for the PS4 version, but also for the upcoming Xbox One/Vita releases. We approached the studio to confirm the delay and to determine if it will impact the PS4 version only or the other platforms. The three ports are scheduled to be released this month.
Sony found some issues we need to fix in their final test of #MinecraftPS4:( We're fixingit, but we'll have to repeat the process.

Players who have downloaded Xbox 360 and PS3 versions will be allowed to upgrade to Xbox One and PS4 respectively at a cost of $5. The offer is valid for at least one year after the release date. The new consoles will provide larger worlds and more draw distance than previous console releases.
The Vita version is cross-buy with PS3. This means that users who purchased Minecraft on the console will receive the handheld version free of charge, whereas new buyers will be able to unlock the game on Vita and PS3. Like the other ports, the asking price to grind your pickaxe on Vita is $20.
