Minecraft film'set to hit silver screen'

The hugely popular block-building game Minecraft could soon be turned into a film.
Minecraft creator Markus Persson revealed this week that the game's creator was talking to Warner Brothers about the project.
Mr. Persson claimed he disclosed the details to deter someone else who was trying to leaked details about the deal.
Movie news site Deadline has reported that one of the producers of the recently released Lego Movie is handling the project.
Deadline reported that Warner was looking to create a movie out of an "live-action" version.
The film is still in its early stages as Warner has just acquired the rights for Minecraft's iconic characters monsters, blocks, and blocks.
The announcement comes just two weeks after Minecraft creator Mojang has taken action to stop the Kickstarter project seeking to raise funds for a film based on the game.
Film adaptations of top-selling games have a long and rocky past in Hollywood and many projects do not even get past the initial planning stage.
For instance, a film set in the science-fictional Halo universe has been in development for nine years, but filming has yet started despite multiple scripts being written.

Films inspired by Bioshock, Gears of War and Metal Gear Solid Work have all been talked about but none has yet started filming.
World of Warcraft is a game that is being developed into a film. Filming began in January with Duncan Jones, a British director. The film is scheduled to be released in the first quarter of 2016.
