The Minecraft giant shows no signs of slowing down. The developer Mojang today announced that Minecraft has sold 100 million copies across all platforms including PCs, Macs consoles, mobile, and PCs. About 53,000 copies of the game have been sold every day since the beginning. The game is addicting. More than 40 million people open Minecraft every month to play with an axe, shovel, and sword. Few games have even been close to hitting 100 million players and that's not even Tetris.
Much of that success can be attributed to the game's open structure and limitless potential. Minecraft's popularity isn't showing any signs of diminishing. Minecraft's strength is not its finite story or amazing graphics. It has a seemingly timeless appeal that draws new youngsters as they grow old enough to play it. Minecraft will continue to sell in a staggering amount in the long run.
