Today's MMO Report, sadly, has a noticeable absence of Casey Schreiner. However, all is well as G4's Morgan Webb has stepped up to take over for Casey as the latter celebrates his 30th birthday.
The announcement that NCSoft will close the North American Lineage servers is the first step in the process. Accounts that were inactive for the 13-year-old video game have been reactivated and the game will remain free-to-play until the servers are shut down.
We now move on to Guild Wars 2, the highly anticipated sequel. This confirms that Lion's Arch - a social hub that was featured in the initial game - will be returning in Guild Wars 2. Check out our coverage of the unveiling of the fly-through video, as well as some analysis from Rubi Bayer.
Next up is screen-time for Minecraft. Although the game isn't strictly an MMO but it's evident that Minecraft has gained immense popularity in the gaming world. Morgan reports that Minecraft creator Notch is considering organizing an Las Vegas launch party... perhaps a convention that is tentatively scheduled for November 11th.
Star Wars: The Old Republic's Sith Inquisitor made its trailer debut earlier in the week. Morgan described the class as "the one player character you wouldn't want to meet in the dark corners of." It combines elements of both spellcasters and stealth into a force-fueled combination.
