The return of Ragnarok Online, the legendary MMORPG Ragnarok Online, will bring excitement and joy to the Ragnarok Online players in Southeast Asia. According to inews24, the new publisher granted the rights by Gravity (Ragnarok's original publisher) to launch the game was Electronics Extreme, a Thai Online Gaming Company. The relaunch included a number of countries like the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, and Indonesia.

Let's talk about Ragnarok Online's return in Southeast Asia. With a rumored 1 million dollar licensing deal, Gravity Corporation hope that the new publisher Electronics Extreme will revive the nostalgic memories of the original Ragnarok to the players, particularly Filipinos. The popularity of Philippine Ragnarok Online, which was launched in 2003, is due to its well-balanced gameplay and active community. Even though some criticizes its character graphics like paper dolls, a lot of Filipinos did not see these minor issue to be a hindrance for players to play. I remember well (even even though I didn't play the game, I did watch my cousin play it) that before Ragnarok Online can be accessed, you must have enough load cards. The Filipinos are so into the game that they spend a lot of money to play it.
In March 2015 the glory days of Philippine Ragnarok Online was ended and it shut down its server due to the decline in sales. According to me, the reason of this drop is the growth of mobile games that people like more appealing and portable. However, Ragnarok fans can only find the nostalgia of MMORPGs with Ragnarok. Amidst of the diminishing glorious days of Ragnarok, Filipinos find a way to rejuvenate Ragnarok by forming or joining private servers.
