Ten years have passed since the game's launch and Minecraft remains one of the most popular games of our time - now, it's getting a revamp by ray tracing. This is the holy grail of gaming graphics, which mimics the physical behaviour of light to provide real-time, cinematic-quality rendering to the game.
NVIDIA announced that it was working on realistic graphics for Minecraft in the past year. extremecraft They will be accessible to Windows players from April 16th. The beta version is currently in development. release will feature the classic Minecraft single-player experience but with ray-traced reflections, shadows, lighting, and custom-designed, realistic materials. Six brand new RTX worlds were created by the community. The worlds that include Aquatic Adventure, Imagination Island and Neon District, are available for free in the Minecraft Marketplace to players with Minecraft Windows 10.
The visually-oriented release also features physically-based rendering (PBR). This means that surfaces will appear more real regardless of whether they're rough matte stone or glossy smooth Ice. NVIDIA's NVIDIA DLSS 2.0 is available to assist with the heavy lifting needed to power this. This updated version of NVIDIA's AI upscaler utilizes RTX Tensor Cores to take a lower-res image and upscale it to the desired resolution and is said to do a better job than the previous feature that launched alongside NVIDIA's RTX cards.
Since it's in beta, you should expect a few issues at this point. Certain features aren't available in the beta, for example multiplayer realms, third-party servers or cross-play. There are still a few design bugs, and some dimensions haven't been optimized for ray tracing. In addition, banners are black, and slime mob has no face - the kind of issues which will be fixed in due course. The official release date hasn't yet been announced. Developers would like to hear from the public about the beta version.
