Every week we release early versions of Minecraft updates to test new features, shake out the wrinkles, and eliminate the bugs before they reach more people. It's a great way for users like you to check out the new stuff we're working on before it's officially launched!
If the thought of experiencing new things first has you excited, and you don't mind having to deal with some bugs in the process take a look at your favorite platform below!
These versions are unstable by nature which means that things can be weird, wonky or just plain wrong. You may lose your game or the items you've created could be damaged. This is a small risk, but it's still an risk!
We offer regular test versions in the Java Edition. To enable Snapshots, visit the Launch Options tab and then click the arrow next the Play button in the main tab.
MINECRAFT SERVERS
XBOX One
Xbox One now has Minecraft Preview that is available for free for anyone who owns a digital copy of Minecraft. It will also be added to Xbox Game Pass later this year. Preview is not available for disc owners. Learn more about Preview on the Minecraft Preview FAQ!
Windows 10 and 11
Windows is now offering Minecraft Preview, which is free for all owners of Minecraft and subscribers to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass. You can find out more about Preview by checking out the Minecraft Preview FAQ.
IPHONES AND IPHONES
iOS is now offering Minecraft Preview. Players can sign up using this link to be informed when slots are made available. While slots aren't unlimited however, we'll open more available on a regular basis, and take away inactive players to allow new players in. Learn more about Preview in the Minecraft Preview FAQ!
Android has a Beta program that you can join anytime, even if you already own Minecraft. It is important to note that when you join this Beta you are replacing your current version of Minecraft with the Beta version. The Beta version is not able to access Realms or Featured servers and can only be used in multiplayer worlds in which you play with other Beta users.
Click here to join the Android Beta. You can then click "Become Tester" and then click "Leave the Program". To go back to the official version of Minecraft you'll need to uninstall Minecraft and then reinstall it. Note that worlds created during the beta program may not be available to play outside of the beta until the next release.
