Technoblade, 'Minecraft' YouTube Creator, Dies Aged 23

Technoblade Techblade, the most popular Minecraft YouTuber, has passed away at the age of 23 following a fight with cancer.



The creator's father posted a moving video on YouTube on Thursday that was titled "so long nerds" with a message written by Technoblade himself. The video was planned with his family members during his final months, but was written by Technoblade just eight hours prior to his death, his father said. The rapper disclosed his real name in the message: Alex.



"Hello everyone, Technoblade here. If you're watching this. He wrote, "I am dead," in the text that was read by his father. "Thank for all who have supported my work throughout the years. MORE If I had another hundred years I'm sure I'd choose to be Technoblade over and over again because those were the most joyful years of my life."



In the video, his father said, "He was the most amazing kid anyone could want. I miss Technoblade."



Technoblade who has 10.8 million subscribers on YouTube has announced his diagnosis of cancer on the platform in August 2021.



Technoblade's family issued a statement that appeared at the end of the video on Thursday.



"We, the Technoblade family, wanted you to know how the great respect and love he had for his fans and colleagues." Since the beginning of Technoblade's online presence, he was always strategizing ways to please and reward his followers," it read.



"Even after his victories however, he maintained his good-natured humility. He was a consummate competitor with a delightful balance of his confidence and self-deprecating. He was determined to keep his identity secret and avoided celebrity. We ask that you honor his wishes to keep his privacy as well as that of his family.



Technoblade's online store has an obituary in honor of his memory, stating that a portion of proceeds from online purchases will be donated to the Sarcoma Foundation of America. "This online store is operated by the Technoblade family. We are thankful for the joy he has brought over the years, and we want to continue spreading his message," it says.



The store's shop is a black T-shirt on sale that reads "so long nerds," followed by "Alexander Technoblade" and "1999-2022" underneath.



Technoblade's fans and associates have also posted touching tributes online to him. Some are collaborators and co-creators with Technoblade while others have followed the YouTuber for years.



Hypixel, one of the Minecraft server for minigames, also uploaded an eloquent tribute to. He was a frequent participant on the server. In a statement, founder and CEO Simon Collins-Laflamme referred to Technoblade as "one of the most globally popular YouTubers."



The post said, "He will be remembered in a way, but we will miss him deeply." He was a talented, kind, and passionate young man with a lot of potential. We are truly grateful to him and delighted to have him as an integral part of the greater community. In many ways the success of a lot of us is tied to the success of Technoblade.



Technoblade's family was also urged to pay homage to "any mainlobby" on the server.



Technoblade began his channel in 2013 and quickly gained recognition. He's been called "one of the best Minecraft players in the world of content creators".
