Xbox has teamed up with the preservation society National Trust (opens in new tab) and some British creatives to make an Minecraft model of Corfe Castle. This impressive, complex build was funded by Xbox UK in the National Trust's festival archaeology. It encourages users to create their own ruin with the help of foundations.
To that end the first build was made by a YouTube video maker named Grian who's work is highlighted in the video above as well as on YouTube. (opens in the new tab) Grian created a build that highlights Corfe Castle's most striking features, including its historical octagonal tower miniature palace and "Gloriette". It is a medieval kingly version I believe it is a kingly version of the Victorian folly.
"Grian has done an amazing job of restoring Corfe Castle to its former splendor. He not only accomplished an accurate recreation of the different styles that were used in the castle grounds, but also combined it with his own ideas. minecraft server list Martin Papworth, an archaeologist of the National Trust, said that we cannot wait to see more creative designs by more young minds."
You can download Corfe's ruins yourself by checking out the Minecraft server corfe.ruinsreimagined.com. The ruin will also be released as a package for Minecraft: Education Edition for use in classrooms. Learn more about the project on Microsoft's website. (opens in new tab)
