How to Create a Private World of Warcraft Server

I upload this mangos release, exactly as i mentioned, to make things easier (just in the event that Maxi is not reading this and does not want me to upload his files here... let him know immediately so that I can get rid of them... I've did not know where they came from)



2. Complete SDB with Updatesets 156: There are issues for some people when they import each changeset. I decided to release the SDB that I used... and this SDB was updated to changesets.156



To make it even more simple I also provide the create database and realmd databases



3. MySQL : Essential program, the above 2 files cannot be used without this installed:)



4. Map and DBC Extractor: This tool is compatible with the World of Warcraft Client version 1.2.1 and Mangos Revision 3459 & Revision 3462 only.



But just as i said before, to make the process simpler. wowdad.net I've uploaded the DBC Files (maps are not included since the file size is bigger than i thought and my connection speed isn't that great in comparison to yours) .. and that means that all you have to do is use the ad.exe or map extractor to extract the WoW Maps

Let's get started!



I'm assuming you've downloaded the necessary software and already installed it (for more detailed WoW Mangos installation, please go to my previous blog post)



1. Install the MySQL Software and configure it as you wish In this case, MySQL installed in C:MySQL and using the default root password, which is blank



2. You'll find 3 files in the Complete Database file.



* create-database.sql * realm-database-full.sql * mangos-full-for-rev3462.sql



Run it by using this command (this time i ensure to use the default path instead of using command that is already set in the environment variable path) from the Start Menu > Run> cmd (this cmd can only be used on Windows XP) or command (Win9x) then change the directory to the extracted one :)



1. C:MySQLbinmysql.exe -u root < create-database.sql 2. C:MySQLbinmysql.exe -u root -D realmd < realm-database-full.sql 3. C:MySQLbinmysql.exe -u root -D mangos < mangos-full-for-rev3462.sql



Note : The create database will also delete your mangos and realmd databases when it is discovered .. I do this to make it simpler (how many times did i say these word in this post?) lol



Another note: Extract the database to the same place as your MySQL bin or, if already in a different location, alter the path in the following manner:



C:MySQLbinmysql.exe -u root < X:where_SDB_extractedcreate-database.sql



3. Place the downloaded DBC Directory somewhere, in this example , C:WoWDataDBC



4. Copy the ad.exe into your WoW installation directory . You can also create a directory called maps and run it .. and wait till finished and move the maps directory to C:WoWDatamaps



5. Extract the Mangos file in a folder like C:WoWMangos. Open mangosd.conf and modify the DataDir to look similar to the following



DataDir = "C:/WoW/Data"



If you're using the example path described in this guide, you can make use of the above configuration for datadir



6. Run mangosd.exe and realmd.exe .... Now you can configure the server.



7.I am sorry that i did not write the final step of this article (thanks GreekSoul). Now since you've finished configuring the server, all you have to do now is configuring the client (WoW game) to connect to your server instead of connecting to the default / official server.
