good morning dear teacher and my friends , today I'm here to present you all about bees and butterflies

slide 02
bees and butterflies , Bees and Butterflies are amazing little insects, that have an essential part to play in our gardens and throughout nature worldwide

slide 03
who are butterflies , Butterflies are one of nature’s most beautiful creatures. butterflies belong to the same order Lepidoptera as that of the moths. they've been believed to be around 50 million years ago . They go through such a remarkable change in their short life span which is about 40 days. They start off as a little egg and continue their metamorphism through their larva and pupa stages until they are finally in there adult stage. Some of these tiny little creatures migrate thousands of miles to lay their eggs . The rainforests serve to be the home to a large number of butterfly species. To avoid extreme environmental conditions, many of these species are known to migrate. Butterflies have a great sense of smell. They also have compound eyes. They are amazing fliers, and their speed varies from species to species. Some can fly as fast as 30 miles per hour or even faster.

slide 04
There are almost 24,000 butterfly species recorded worldwide, and they are found on every continent except for Antarctica. some of common butterflies species are presented in this slide such as , monarch butterfly , Monarch butterflies are the king of all butterflies and are also the most beautiful species of all Blue Morpho butterfly this one constitutes as some of the largest butterflies in the world, primarily because the size of their wingspan ranges from 5-8 inches. , read that shit on the slide pls

slide 05
Often seen buzzing from flower to flower, bees have been around for millions of years. bees are winged insects that are related to wasps and ants . bees are generally social creatures that live in large colonies. Bees are found on every continent except for Antarctica, in every habitat on the planet that contains insect-pollinated flowering plants. Bees feed on nectar and pollen, the former primarily as an energy source and the latter primarily for protein and other nutrients . A bee colony is highly organized, with a queen, drones, and workers caring for the beehive. the worker bees are all female , they collect honey , guard the hive and take care of the balance while living a life span of 6 weeks / 6 months . the drones are the male bees , they feed on honey and mate on the queen and dies soon after , the queen is the head of the hive her duty is to lay eggs , A productive queen may lay as many as 2,500 eggs per day. A queen has the capacity to live for 2 or 3 – 4 years .

slide 06
There are 20,000 distinct bee species around the world, with 4,000 of them in the United States alone. From 2006-2015, approximately 25% fewer species were found. Under the best scenario, thousands of bee species have already become too rare. honey bee , bumble bee , carpenter bees , mason bees , Buckfast bee these are some common types of bees

slide 07
You might ask yourself, why do butterfly’s matter? Butterflies are something that make the earth all around more beautiful and more enjoyable to live on. They also help to support other forms of insects and wildlife. Butterflies are one of the signs of a healthy ecosystem and a healthy environment. these collectivity provide a wild range of environmental benefits including pollination and natural pest pest control And aside from that, Butterflies have been widely used by ecologists as model organisms to study the impact of habitat loss and fragmentation, and climate change

Bees play a vital role in most ecosystems. Bees play a massive role in pollinating the plants that we eat. A single bee colony can pollinate 300 million flowers in a day. Approximately 75% of the world’s crops depend on pollinators. The global crop production pollinated by bees is valued at $577 billion. Also, bees produce honey, a delicious sweet food enjoyed by humans, animals, and birds This sickly sweet golden liquid is valuable not only for its saccharine taste, but also due to its medicinal properties and the fact it is so energy dense.

slide 09
While the population of all species has declined over the last few decades, the dramatic drop in the population of bees has increasingly been of concern because of the important role they play as pollinators. Without bees, many of the world’s most important crops would fail and directly affect the food supply of humans and countless other species. bees and butterflies are in decline on a global scale as they face many threats, some of which threaten our trees and woods too Ultimately, a decline in bee diversity driven by either increasing rarity or irreversible extinction will affect the pollination of wild plants and crops and have broader ecological and economic consequences. Many factors are influencing the decline of bees and butterflies , including habitat fragmentation, increased use of neonicotinoid pesticides, colony collapse disorder, and climate change. it should be our ultimate duty to protect them
