It can be difficult to understand and compare information about public sector spending. Government statistics are usually presented in tables. In this hack, I used open data from Eurostat (the EU statistics agency) regarding government expenditure for several countries and created sets of boxes in a Minecraft world. This allows you to walk (fly) around the globe and examine the data.
Boxes for spending data are ordered as General public service Defence, Public order Safety Economic affairs and protection housing and community amenities. Health, Recreation culture Religion, Education Social security.

Future plans include rendering budget deficits like holes in the ground and making it possible to open boxes to view subdivisions. Data for Greece should be rendered in lava I believe.
