Lineage is Set to Launch Globally on November 4

South Korean game company NCSoft announced that Lineage W, its latest cross-platform MMORPG, will launch globally on November 4, 2021 in initial regions including Russia, South Korea, South Korea, Japan, Russia and the Middle East. In the following years, Lineage W will expand its service areas to North America, South America, and Europe. The game will be available on Android, iOS, PC (via Purple), PS5, and Nintendo Switch.



The pre-registration for Lineage W, which started two months ago, is in progress on the official website, Google Play, and Apple App Store. Users who have registered are able to select their preferred characters' names on the game's website.

Lineage W is a sequel to Lineage 1, an MMORPG released in 1998 with 2D isometric-overhead graphics. The story is set 150 years following the events of Lineage. Lineage W is almost identical to a remastered version of the original game, with full 3D graphics (developed using Unreal Engine 4) and an enlargement camera.



It also features the dark fantasy theme, the cell/grid system for combat and a battle system that has enhanced strike feedback, immersive stories, and enhanced content for pledges and alliances. Information on the four classes, which include Monarch, Knight, Elf and Mage, was revealed on the game's website.



Lineage W also has a "global battle community." Players from all over the world can join forces and battle on a single battleground (server). It also includes 'AI Translation' which allows players to communicate in real-time with players who speak different languages. Additionally, there is the 'Voice-to-Text' feature that converts speech into text.



According to the game's 2nd showcase event, Lineage W's initial content will include a variety of content such as magic dolls that are more adorable as well as a dice game tax wagon convoy missions, teleport treasure hunts, and collection events.



Moreover, the company said that it would not be launching monthly subscription services like Einhasad's Blessing and other XP-related systems. Einhasad’s Blessing is an in-game purchase, boosts the rate of acquisition for Adena (the game currency), experience points and tradable items. Other systems, such as guard stars, symbols, and spirit engraving won't be part of the Lineage W.



It also states that it would support players-to-player trade systems. Players can trade the items they want or sell to and buy from each other on a live basis. NCSoft has drastically reduced the fees for private trading. The market for trade will also be available.



Lineage W will be released on November 4, 2021. It will be available the first time on Android, iOS, and PC platforms. It is also scheduled to launch for the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch in 2022.
