Hello, new snapshot! Hello, new cave generation!
This snapshot makes a significant change to how caves are generated in Minecraft. It could be said that we're now introducing the cave portion of Caves & Cliffs.
This is only the first step in our underground adventure. Be aware that snapshots could include features that are not yet in development. Additionally there are two crucial warnings regarding this snapshot
Old worlds will not be accessible in this snapshot because there isn't an upgrade path to the new world's height. The caves between y31 and y63 will be flooded.
21w06a New Features
- Noise caves and aquifers are added
Aquifers and noise caves
Noise caves are a new way of generating caves, providing more natural diversity. They can get really huge sometimes! Noise caves come in two varieties:- Cheese caves. Minecraft servers Like the holes in swiss cheese. They often form caverns that are various sizes. - Spaghetti caves. Long , squiggly tunnels that are sometimes wide like Tagliatelle.
Changes in 21w06a
Overworld build and generation limits were increased - Mineshafts were adapted to larger caves. - A big dripleaf that is powered by redstone will break instead of tumbling in the event of being hit by projectiles. - Textures for small dripleaves and hanging roots have been updated
The range of generation and build limits were expanded by 64 blocks and 64 blocks, respectively, to the total of 384 blocks. - Underground features, structures, and caves produce all the way down to the y-64.
Mineshaft changes
Mineshaft pieces aren't able to generate the same effect if they were floating in the air. Mineshaft corridors are supported by log pillars whenever needed - No floating cobwebs
Fixed bugs in 21w06a
MC-214346: Big dripleaf can easily be broken with Arrows from the spawn protection MC-213813. Small dripleaf is capable of destroying any block
