You may also misuse them and cause harm to others. Minecraft is an open-world sandbox! The basic firework rocket isn't something to be awed by however, with the help of firework stars and dyes, you can create a stunning display to impress everyone on your Minecraft server - and the various combinations that are available will result in 10.8 duovigintillion possibilities of unique fireworks.

No need to use up resources to experiment with different methods; we'll explain everything you need to know and you can follow our recipe for fireworks to create the explosive rockets you've dreamed of.

How to make Minecraft fireworks

You'll need at least one piece of paper and a piece of gunpowder to make an explosive rocket. To boost the speed of the rocket's flight you can add two gunpowders. This will determine how high the rocket will fly.

However, if you want those beautiful explosion effects you'll need to include an explosion star. The creation of the firework star is the point where you get to customise the firework's explosion. Combine gunpowder and up to eight dyes to create a fireworks star. To create a twinkle effect or a trail effect after an explosion, add glowstone dust or diamond. These effects can be added to the star.

You can also alter the shape of the fireworks explosion. Adding a fire charge will produce a massive circular explosion; a gold nugget can create a star-shaped explosion and a head of any kind will create an explosion that resembles the form of a creeper's face and a feather will produce an explosion with a burst shape. Only one of these shape modifiers is allowed in the firework star.

Once you've created your star You can add a 'fade-to-colour' effect by mixing any dye with it.

How to create an Minecraft firework display

Once you've been given your fireworks, you could be thinking of how to get them going to create the best show. You can use a firework to illuminate a block. If you're looking for precision and let the fireworks go off from a safe distance then you'll need to place your fireworks in dispensers. Redstone can activate the fireworks. They will shoot in the direction they're fired, however you can create diagonal paths by firing them through flowing water. YouTuber DigMinecraft has created a basic tutorial explaining how to create a basic firework show in Minecraft - check out the video below.

Using Minecraft fireworks with Elytra

Elytra allows you to fly through fireworks. This is a fantastic method to propel yourself through the air. The quantity of gunpowder used in rocket creation will affect the duration of the boost.

It is crucial to leave out the firework star when crafting fireworks to be used for this purpose, since the explosion effects they produce will damage you. Ouch. If you don't mix your rockets up, you'll be able to fly through the sky, exploring the vast areas of your Minecraft seed. Make sure you have enough fireworks to last your return trip.
